Presidential Portfolio

Ultimately, the President oversees all of the activities of Council, while also nurturing the FHSSC’s relationship with the Faculty of Health Sciences administration, the University Students’ Council, and Western University. The President is also responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to the EDI Chair and EDI Coordinators of Council.

Student Engagement Portfolio

The Student Engagement Portfolio is compromised of Year Ambassadors from each school in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Year Ambassadors serve as liaisons between their constituent years and programs, and the FHSSC; the Ambassadors bring student voices and perspectives to our meetings. The Student Engagement portfolio also helps to promote our initiatives to the student body, and inform them about the structure of FHSCC.

Communications Portfolio

The Communications portfolio works hard to ensure that the faculty-student body is are aware of what the FHSSC is up to. We make sure that events and initiatives planned by the FHSSC get noticed by coordinating social media campaigns through multiple channels. We’re in charge of creating graphics, taking photos and videos of events, and making some great merch designs. Whether it be through our website or our social media outlets, we strive to ensure that information is clear and accessible. Beyond the FHSSC’s events, the Communications portfolio also strives to promote beneficial initiatives that are led by Western, its students, or one of the many student-led organizations on campus.

Student Affairs Portfolio

Student Affairs Portfolio focus on helping students develop skills and connections within university by promoting academics, education and self-improvement. The VP and their Portfolio also assists with plans and implements events that welcome future FHS students and create an inclusive environment. Beyond these events, the Student Affairs Portfolio is responsible for hearing out any concerns from students and relaying it to the FHSSC and the FHS administration

Internal Review and Administration Portfolio

The Internal Review Portfolio is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the FHSSC and the other portfolios, in addition to reviewing and upholding the FHSSC’s constitution.

Events Portfolio

The VP Events and their Portfolio is responsible for coordinating social events such as Bob Ross Paint Night, FHS Formal and the FHS games. The portfolio plans at least three events for the Student Body, with one event per semester. The VP events also liaises with their counterparts in each Association to coordinate programming of such events for the FHSSC.
