WHAT IS FHSSC?
The Health Sciences Students’ Council is the representative body of all undergraduate students of the Faculty of Health Sciences and takes on an executive role that overlooks the functioning of the Health Studies Students’ Association, Kinesiology Students’ Association, and Western-Fanshawe Nursing Students’ Association. While the FHSSC ensures that Association funding is used appropriately for student benefit, it retains its own operating budget to design and execute events that all FHS students can attend. Furthermore, the FHSSC maintains a connection to the USC, tying the FHSSC to Western as a whole.

WHO’S IN FHSSC?
The Faculty of Health Sciences Students’ Council is comprised of Executive Members, General Members, USC and Senate Representatives, and Year ambassadors.
Executive members include: The President, VP Finance, VP Events, VP Communications, VP Student Affairs, and the VP Student Engagement. Each of these members has their own portfolio that focuses on different aspects of the Student Experience.
General members have specific roles under each of the executives portfolios. They are voting members of council and help the executives plan and carry out their goals throughout the year.
USC and Senate Representatives are our faculty’s representation on a broader level than FHSSC. They take feedback from the student body and FHSSC to the USC and Senate level and participate in making changes to better the Student Experience campus wide.
Year ambassadors are representatives for their year and program on FHSSC and on campus in general. They promote FHSSC initiatives to their classes and collect faculty related feedback from their peers.
